Day 1: Sydney / Hunter Valley

Cross  the Sydney Harbour Bridge and head north bound for the Hunter Valley.   We cross over the Hawkesbury River to enter into the Hunter Valley following the Convict trail up Great North Road.  Enjoy your morning tea at Wollombi, a quaint and tiny historic Goldrush township.  

Experience a private tasting at the world famous Lindemans Winery and enjoy a visit to the home of the Bluetongue Beer where you have the change to try a tasting paddle of the available varieties (own expense).   Increase your knowledge of wine with an “Introduction to Wine Appreciation Course” exclusive to AAT Kings. You will also watch an informative dvd on the wine making process from the grapevine to the bottle at the Hunter Resort.

After your walking tour of the vineyards and winery, enjoy a smorgasboard of tasting platters offering a range of individual dishes for lunch while a cellarmaster shows how each dish “marries” with certain wines.  From here your coach captain will transfer you to your  choice of accommodation at Hunter Valley.   The rest of your afternoon and evening is free to relax and take in the region.

The Hunter Resort Country Estate J141, located in the heart of the Hunter Valley Wine Country, is nestled amongst its own vineyards and incorporates an exquisite Restaurant, Wine Tasting Cellars, excellent 4-star accommodation and the Hunter's largest winery. Available Monday - Sunday

Harrigan's J142 is Surrounded by the Tallawanta vineyards and adjacent to Harrigan's Irish pub, its perfectly situated to give you the option of experience all that the Hunter has to offer. Available Sunday - Thursday

Day 2: Hunter Valley / Sydney

Most of this day is at your leisure to arrange further winery tours, a hot air balloon flight , or  to simply relax in the area. Please note, check out time is 10am however, your luggage can be kept at the hotel until required.  Your coach captain will collect you from your accommodation this afternoon  and continue onto Oakvale one of Australia's oldest working wineries where you can enjoy boutique wine, you will then continue on a to the quaint township of the Hunter Valley Gardens. Here, you will have free time to explore the many hidden delights in the garden village - why not try the chocolate shop. Enjoy the opportunity to taste premium wines in the unique atmosphere of the Hunter Valley's only underground cellars. 

departing Hunter Valley Gardens we head back to Sydney via Freeman's Waterhole and the Expressway to arrive approximately at 7.00pm. Hotel drop offs to most city hotels are available, please ask your driver.

Note:  passengers staying at Harrigan's will visit Oakvale on day 1, before checking in to Harrigan's.
